Horse Chestnuts are sourced from the seeds of the Horse Chestnut tree (Aesculus hippocastanum) and supplied in cut pieces measuring approximately 10–20 mm. The material has a natural brown colour and a firm, dense texture typical of dried seeds.

These cut seeds are provided as a raw botanical ingredient suitable for applications requiring natural plant material for structural, visual, or general formulation purposes. This product has been considered a novel food by the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), with guidance from the Advisory Committee on Novel Foods (ACNF). In addition, products containing novel food ingredients are treated as taxable supplies, meaning GST is applied in accordance with guidelines from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
