Myrrh Gum (Commiphora spp.) consists of dried resin pieces cut to approximately 4–10 mm. The material has a natural brown colour and a characteristic resinous appearance typical of botanical gums.

This ingredient is supplied as a raw botanical material suitable for applications requiring plant-derived resin for visual, structural, or general formulation purposes. Its distinct texture and natural form make it appropriate for various non-ingestible uses, including botanical blends, formulation development, and craft applications.

This product has been considered a novel food by the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), with guidance from the Advisory Committee on Novel Foods (ACNF). In addition, products containing novel food ingredients are treated as taxable supplies, meaning GST is applied in accordance with guidelines from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
